How It Works

Getting practical living support starts with understanding what you are looking for.

Rather than asking you to choose a fixed package or purchase a service online, we begin with an enquiry and an initial conversation. We take the time to understand your circumstances, the areas of everyday life where you may need assistance and the type of support that may be appropriate.

If the service is suitable, we then discuss the proposed support arrangement and any applicable fees before services begin.

Our Process

The process is designed to keep things straightforward. You tell us what you are looking for, we discuss your circumstances, and together we consider an appropriate support arrangement.

01 — Initial Enquiry

Tell Us What You Are Looking For

The first step is to contact TSALACH Help and tell us a little about your circumstances.

You can explain the areas of everyday life where you may be looking for practical assistance, such as household responsibilities, meal planning, personal organisation, appointments, routines or community participation.

You do not need to know exactly what type of support you require before contacting us.

The information you provide helps us understand your initial enquiry and determine the appropriate next step.

What you can tell us:

  • A little about your circumstances
  • The areas of everyday life where you need assistance
  • The type of support you are considering
  • Whether you are looking for occasional or more regular assistance
  • Any other information you feel is relevant

02 — Assessment

Discuss Your Circumstances

Following your initial enquiry, we arrange an opportunity to discuss your circumstances in more detail.

The purpose of the assessment is to understand what you are looking for and consider whether practical living support may be appropriate.

We may discuss:

  • Your current everyday routines
  • Areas where you may need practical assistance
  • The type of tasks or responsibilities you would like help with
  • How frequently support may be useful
  • Your preferences and priorities
  • The level of involvement you would like to maintain
  • Any relevant practical considerations

The assessment is not about asking you to select a pre-set service package.

It gives us an opportunity to understand your individual situation before discussing a possible support arrangement.

03 — Support Planning

Determine What Support May Be Appropriate

If practical living support is considered suitable, we discuss what type of assistance may be appropriate for your circumstances.

The support arrangement may cover one particular area or several areas of everyday life, depending on what has been discussed.

This could include:

  • Household support
  • Meal planning
  • Budgeting and organisation
  • Appointments and personal organisation
  • Community participation
  • Everyday routine support

We also discuss the expected frequency and level of assistance.

The proposed arrangement is based on the individual’s circumstances rather than a standard package.

Support is individually assessed.

04 — Agreement

Confirm the Support Arrangement

Before services begin, the proposed support arrangement is discussed and agreed.

This includes confirming the practical details of the service and any applicable fees.

Depending on the arrangement, this may include:

  • The type of support to be provided
  • The areas of everyday life covered
  • The expected frequency of support
  • The level of assistance
  • Any relevant practical arrangements
  • Applicable fees
  • The agreed start arrangements

The purpose of this stage is to make sure the individual understands what has been discussed and what support will be provided before the service begins.

There is no requirement to purchase a standard package online.

05 — Service Begins

Start the Agreed Support

Once the support arrangement has been confirmed, the agreed service can begin.

Support is provided according to the arrangement discussed and agreed with the individual.

The focus remains on practical assistance with everyday responsibilities, routines and activities.

Where appropriate, the individual remains involved in their own routines, choices and everyday responsibilities.

Support arrangements can also be discussed again if circumstances change and a different level or type of assistance may be appropriate.

Understanding Your Everyday Needs

We may talk about:

Your Daily Routine

What your typical day or week looks like and which parts may be difficult to manage.

Household Responsibilities

The household tasks, organisation or routines where practical assistance may be useful.

Personal Organisation

Appointments, schedules, reminders, planning and other everyday responsibilities.

Meals & Food Organisation

Meal planning, food requirements and maintaining manageable meal routines.

Community Activities

What your typical day or week looks like and which parts may be difficult to manage.

Frequency of Support

Whether you may benefit from occasional assistance or a more regular arrangement. The purpose is to understand your circumstances rather than assume what support you need.

No Fixed Support Package

Support Is Based on Individual Circumstances

TSALACH Help does not ask everyone to select the same support package.

The type, frequency and level of practical assistance can vary considerably between individuals.

For example, one person may mainly require household support, while another may need assistance with appointments, routines and community participation.

For this reason, support is discussed individually.

Any applicable fees are also discussed and agreed before services begin.

What About Pricing?

Guide Rates Are Available on Our Living Support Page

Our Living Support page provides indicative guide rates for different areas of practical support.

These rates are intended to help you understand the general starting cost.

They are not fixed packages or guaranteed final prices.

The applicable fee will depend on the agreed support arrangement, including the type, level and frequency of assistance required.

For this reason, we discuss the applicable fees with you before services begin.

Can Support Be Changed Later?

Arrangements Can Be Reviewed When Circumstances Change

Everyday circumstances can change.

The type or level of support that is useful at the beginning may not necessarily remain the same over time.

If circumstances change, the support arrangement can be discussed and reviewed.

This may include changes to:

  • The areas of support required
  • The frequency of support
  • The level of assistance
  • Everyday routines
  • Community activities
  • Household responsibilities

Any proposed changes would be discussed before being introduced.

Start With a Conversation

Use our assessment form to provide your details, explain the areas where you may need assistance and provide your preferred appointment time.

We can then discuss your enquiry, arrange an initial conversation and explain the next steps.
